Bonita Jamaica presents Sixty Beautiful Years – An Independence Celebration Photo Exhibit.
Jamaica celebrates 60 years of independence in 2022 (August 6, 1962 to August 6, 2022). It has been a long journey filled with challenges, but we have made great progress. And we pray that God will preside over us as we continue on our journey.
Jamaicans everywhere should be proud of our accomplishments in areas such as music, sports, education, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, tolerance, women’s rights, environmental awareness, human rights, and globalization. And it is our prayer that Jamaicans everywhere will continue to work together to make improvements in our weak areas, such as crime, poverty, road safety, job creation, and access to education and healthcare. Every one of us has a role to play in our future and so our attitude should be all hands on deck.
Going forward, Jamaicans should consider launching more nonprofits that are focused on solving problems in Jamaica. Nonprofits in places like the US and Canada help to solve big problems in these countries. Imagine a nonprofit that is focused on fixing potholes as they arise in Jamaica. This would really help. In every area that Jamaica is weak, a nonprofit could assist in making Jamaica stronger. If you imagine it, it can be done.
Also, Jamaicans at home should consider a change in their attitude toward our country. The current attitude is, for the most part, is not my problem. Jamaica is not short of money. And money solves problems. Affluent Jamaicans should do what they can to assist with programs that are geared toward helping to create a better Jamaica for all. An end to the current do-nothing culture would greatly benefit Jamaica.
God bless every Jamaican and every friend of Jamaica. And God bless Jamaica.
